Early Signs Of Pregnancy
Learning to spot the early signs of pregnancy is one of the most important
things you can ever do for yourself. In a pregnancy, many things will take place within your body and the body of
the baby, or fetus. Proper healthcare is essential to make sure you both are healthy and well. This is why it is
very important to recognize the early signs of pregnancy so that you can get the proper medical treatment right
from the get-go.
Pregnancy first signs are sometimes tricky to spot. They are not the same for every woman or even for every
pregnancy so even if you have been pregnant before, you may find yourself having trouble recognizing the signs the
second or third time around if they are different than your pervious pregnancies.
Pregnancy typically lasts for 9 months or 40 weeks. This can vary from one to another. For example, some babies
are born healthy at 38 weeks where others may go to 41 weeks. There can also sometimes be discrepancies in the due
date as this is always just an estimate.
For the entire duration of the 9 months, women can experience signs and symptoms of pregnancy. However, it is
during the first few weeks that some of the most major changes are going on inside that you may not even realize.
The womans body is getting ready to carry a baby and for this it has to prepare.
Hormones will kick in that jumpstart the production of more blood and body fluids, the breasts will get ready
for nursing in a few months and periods will stop. In fact, lack of menstruation is one of the most obvious early
signs of pregnancy.
However, since many women experience spotting during pregnancy, they may confuse this with their period and
still not realize that they are pregnant. At the earliest possible signs of pregnancy, you should get tested or at least treat yourself as if you are pregnant until you are tested to rule it
out. This means you should avoid drugs and alcohol and smoking and eat a healthy diet as well as get enough rest
each day.
Speaking of rest, you may also find that you are more severely fatigued as an early sign of pregnancy. You may
find it harder to get out of bed in the mornings or to have the energy you once had to get around and do things.
The signs of pregnancy often include excessive tiredness, especially early in the pregnancy.
Some other early signs of pregnancy include:
- Missed period
- Spotting or light bleeding between period or in place of period
- Moody/ irritability
- Nausea/ morning sickness
- Discharge
- Fatigue/ tiredness
- Breast tenderness/ swelling
You may experience some or all of these early signs of pregnancy. Signs of pregnancy discharge may come on
before you expect your period or when you would normally get your period. You might get some spotting now, too.
This is normal.
There are many pregnancy tests on the market now that allow you to test really early. You can get over the
counter pregnancy tests that allow testing as early as three days before your missed period. Of course you
should always see a clinic or doctor to completely confirm this result but chances are if it says you are
pregnant and you have some or any of these symptoms, then you really are pregnant.
It's also important to know that first week pregnancy signs are rarely noticeable to anyone, unless you've been
pregnant before and are now having the same symptoms. Teen pregnancy symptoms can be the same or can also vary
since the female is not an adult yet. Also, teens do not always know how to recognize these signs since their
bodies are going through many other changes already. This is why many teen pregnancies go unnoticed in the
beginning.
The more aware you are of these early signs of pregnancy, the sooner you will notice your own signs and be able
to get seen by a professional and start your prenatal care. If you are planning to get pregnant, you can always
talk to your doctor and start your prenatal care before you even officially become pregnant. This is the best way
to ensure the best of health for you and your baby.
